Thanks to your feedback, we have reimagined our Advanced Course in Allergy & Immunology to give you educational programming that encompasses your full scope of practice. Join us for the new Explorers Course 2025: Surgical & Medical Management of Airway Disease…
So, You Think You Have Been to the Advanced Course….
We all suffer from the need to find new and innovative educational content to help us improve in our practice for better efficiencies and better outcome — all centered on better patient care.
We here at the AAOA suffer from the need to continually improve our CME programming to help assure we are responding to our members’ — our learners’ — needs.
What is it in today’s otolaryngology practice that is resonating as a hot topic? Where are the novel treatment strategies? What is today’s typical otolaryngology practice or more specifically the typical AAOA member’s practice? These are the questions we try to address when building out our Advanced Course in Allergy & Immunology. And so while you think you may have “been there, done that” chances are you have not experienced our new content.
This year, the AAOA Advanced Course in Allergy & Immunology will build on core concepts in the management of the typical and more complex allergy patient in an otolaryngology practice.
Topics will focus on:
- different approaches to immunotherapy
- role of sublingual immunotherapy in today’s practice
- chronic sino-nasal disease and its tie to allergy
- managing your patients’ asthma and related co-morbidities
- where does food allergy come into play in the typical patient
Additionally, we will have featured speakers looking at the role of allergy and inflammation in otologic conditions. Steven Rauch, MD, Director, Vestibular Division, Harvard Medical School and Medical Director, Massachusetts Eye and Ear Balance and Vestibular Center, is an invited guest faculty. Dr. Rauch will share his expertise and patient experience related to hearing and balance, particularly Meniere’s, autoimmune, and other otologic disorders. In addition to Dr. Rauch, our course directors, Cecelia Damask, DO, AAOA Education Coordinator, and Michael Parker, MD, are working feverishly to build a strong faculty to deliver the quality program you have come to appreciate from the AAOA.
Our goal is to build on typical patient case scenarios to help tie in the new therapeutic modalities and patient management approaches. We know time is a precious commodity. Finding time to network with peers as you consider novel approaches to patient care is an on-going challenge. Join us in Atlanta for this unique blend of content, networking, and leading experts to have an opportunity to walk away with something new you can implement in your practice to help improve your overall approach to patient care.
Save the date for the 2018 Advanced Course in Allergy & Immunology …. with an otologic focus. The meeting will be held from December 6th – 8th at the Sheraton Atlanta Hotel. Learn More
