The American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy (AAOA) represents over 2,700 Board-certified otolaryngologists and health care providers. Otolaryngology, frequently referred to as Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT), uniquely combines medical and surgical expertise to care for patients with a variety of conditions affecting the ears, nose, and throat, as well as commonly related conditions. AAOA members devote part of their practice to the diagnosis and treatment of allergic disease. The AAOA actively supports its membership through education, research, and advocacy in the care of allergic patients.

ABOHNS Continuing Certification (MOC)

Starting in 2020, AAOA CME Programs Offer ABOHNS Continuing Certification (CC) Credits

Now your AAOA CME program participation can earn you more. Rolling out with all our 2020 CME offerings, members can choose to participate in ABOHNS Continuing Certification credits (CC, formerly known as MOC) Part II: Self-Assessment credits. CC credits are offered for all AAOA live activities. AAOA is excited about this new opportunity to help expand member value and give our members more for the CME dollars.

With 2020 as our pilot year, the AAOA is making the participation in ABOHNS Continuing Certification credits (CC) free for AAOA members with their CME course and on-demand registration in 2020. CC opt-in option is complimentary until the course is complete. You will be asked to pay $100 late fee if you miss the deadline and still want to claiming Continuing Certification credits (CC) for that activity. Nonmembers will also have the opportunity to opt in to ABOHNS Continuing Certification for an additional fee.

To claim ABOHNS Continuing Certification credit (CC, you will need to sign up for the CC portion when registering for a CME activity, and you will need be set to claim CC credits through your AAOA profile. For detail instructions on how to set up your AAOA profile and register to claim Continuing Certification credits (CC), click here.

After attending an AAOA activity, you will need complete the test (Clinical Insight Modules) or the post-course survey (live or virtual activities) to claim your CME credits.

The AAOA will provide attendees up to 30 days to update their profile to claim CC credits and take the post-course survey or test. After the 30 days, the AAOA will submit the participation completion information to ACCME and may not be able to assist in reporting CC credits after that time.

ABOHNS Continuing Certification Recognition Statement

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn their required annual part II self-assessment credit in the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery’s Continuing Certification program (formerly known as MOC). It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of recognizing participation.

DOs and Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada may claim ABOHNS Continuing Certification credits but they are self-reported. For more information, visit:
