AMA National Survey to Document Physician Practice Expense Is Still Open
Please take the time to complete the Physician Practice Information Survey! If you or your practice manager receive the survey, make sure to complete it. The information you provide will be extremely valuable in updating payment rates for the services that you provide to your patients, and the input you provide is critical for the success of the study. Participation will ensure that practice expenses and patient care hours are accurately reflected in the payment rates under the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule.
The American Medical Association (AMA) continues its work to collect representative data on physician practice expenses. The aim of the Physician Practice Information Survey (PPIS) is to better understand the costs faced by today’s physician practices to support physician payment advocacy. The study will serve as an opportunity to communicate accurate financial information to policymakers, including to members of Congress and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. The AMA has contracted with Mathematica, an independent research company with extensive experience in survey methods to conduct the study.
